Over a Year

Wow! It's been well over a year and I don't think anyone has read my blog. I'm a busy person, and it's so hard to promote. I'm thinking I need to leave more omments on other blogs, post more pictures and such. not such an easy thing for a mother of five. But I'm going to try harder! I'm also hoping to make more of my own patterns instead of making stuff other people design. I need to get my etsy store up and running again, but first I need to take alot of picture (something I'm not very good at. Plus my kids always turn into little hellions the minute I break out the camera. Staging - it's all about staging the photos. Nver enough hours in the day. If I'm trolling blogs and leaving comments, when will I have time to create? Always something huh?

My Bears Blanket

This blanket took me about a year to make. I used yarn I could only get at Hobby Lobby, so when I ran out (because I didn'y know how much I needed) I would put it aside until I had the time and money, or I could talk my hubby into going. (Even better if I could talk him into buying.) I also had to put it up when I was working on stuff for a craft fair. Then I fell and broke my ankle and I didn't feel much like crocheting so I read a lot. The picture isn't great, but it was the best I could do at the time. I made it large enough to fit my queen-sized bed, and with my bum ankle, I couldn't get a very good shot, plus my two-year-old wouldn't get off the bed. Well, I finally finished it last Friday, and I thought this could be my first new post. What do you think?

Almost done with the racetrack!

Starting up a store on Etsy is not the easiest thing that I've ever done. I have yaet to put it all on and I wish I was a better photographer! Add the store to making stuff for the store, blogging to try to get people into my store, and rasing five kids while trying to keep the house together is near impossible! But on a good note, I'm almost done with my racetrack rug. I got the pattern from www.crochetpatterncentral.com , who got it from the "Made By Cythia Rae' blog here at blooger.com. Thanks for the updated pattern! If all goes well with the finishing, I'm going to sell them in my Etsy shop. You can find it at www.etsy.com/shop/crochetinastitch . I'll have more items in there soon! When my racetrack is complete, I will post a picture here.

Girls Fingerless Gloves

These gloves were inspired by a pattern I found on Crochet Pattern Central, which is my favorite place to find free crochet patterns. The pattern was titled simply 'Fingerless Gloves'.

Materials:

1.5 oz worsted weight yarn

Small amount of fun fur type yarn

H hook

Yarn Needle

**Please note that I tend to crochet loosley. You may want to try an I hook instead.**

Chain 19 LOOSELY, form a loop into only the top loop of the chain, being careful not to twist the work.

Round 1: Chain 1, hdc in the same chain as the joining and in each additional chain around. Join to first hdc. (19 hdc throughout work)

Rounds 2-12: Chain 1, hdc in same stitch as joining and in each hdc around. Join to first hdc.

AT THE END OF ROUND 12, DO NOT JOIN. This will make the thumb hole.

Round 13: Chain 3, hdc in next hdc and in each hdc around. Join to 2nd chain of the chain 3.

Round 14: Chain 1, Skip over 3rd chain of the chain 3 and hdc in each hdc around. Join to first hdc.

Round 15: Chain 1, Hdc around, join to 1st hdc.

Round 16: Chain 1, reverse sc in each hdc.

Finish off. Sew in all ends.

Fun Fur Trim: Working on the inside of the bottom off the glove, attach Fun Fur with a single crochet to the starting chain and work 2 or 3 sc into each chain.

♥Feel free to make and sell these gloves, but please give credit where credit is due♥

My First Post

First off, I would like to say thank you for visiting my blog. I am very new to this, so please come back and check with me from time to time. I may get better at this.
Since I am a mother of five with a part time job, I'm not sure how often I will be posting to this blog. In the coming days and weeks I hope to post a couple of my crochet patterns that I have written along with pictures (as soon as I learn. I also hope to keep you updated on my WIPS (that's work in progress for those of you who don't know).
Right now I am working on translating a Chicago Bears Logo graph that I am turning into a huge blanket for my husband. My other large project is a Race Track Rug that I'm making for my son. I haven't worked on it for awhile because frankly , it was ticking me off! I want to finish it soon because I want to make another one that I want to sell in my etsy store. I also have various other blankets and such in differing phases that I may or may not complete. I just got done making little hacky sack-type balls and fingerless gloves for my 6-year olds' class. Both of those patterns will be posted within the next week or so.
